Social Security Violates Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act

  1. I applied for SSi in July 2004 and was told my assets/financial resources exceeded the maximum amount ($2,000) allowed in order to receive SSI benefits
I was told to spend down my assets/financial resources to the maximum amount allowed in order to be eligible for SSI benefits.
My research revealed that Congress approved legislation that allows individuals to protect assets or set up a special needs trust under Section 1917 (d)(4)(A), (d)(4)(B), (d)(4)(C) of the Social Security Act.
    See: www.ssa.gov/ssi/spotlights/spot-trusts.htm
A lawsuit was filed in Federal District Court (Case No. H08-1892) Houston, Texas Harris County (June 2008)
Violation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
